•Campari America has named Andrea Sengara as vice president of marketing. Sengara was most recently senior vice president, consumer planning and innovation at Moet Hennessy and prior to that spent more than a decade at Diageo. In her new role she’ll lead all facets of marketing across Campari America’s premium portfolio, including the Campari, Aperol, Skyy, Wild Turkey, and Espolon, among others.
•Jackson Family Wines has partnered with NFL Hall of Famers Ronnie Lott, Marcus Allen, and Charles Haley to host “Untold and Unforgettable,” a “virtual huddle” benefiting All Stars Helping Kids. The event will take place Wednesday, September 23 from 5pm-6pm (PDT) with a limited access VIP happy hour kicking off at 3-4:30pm (PDT). Lott, Allen, and Haley will share untold and unforgettable stories from their football careers while sharing bottles of their favorite wines. All Stars Helping Kids provides seed funding and invests in emerging San Francisco Bay Area non-profits aimed at moving youth from poverty to prosperity.
•Stella Rosa has launched a new higher-alcohol Royale expression. Stella Rosa Royale is billed as a darker, richer version of the brand’s existing Rosso, and carries an abv of 8% compared with 5% for the core offering. Royale’s fuller profile makes it especially amenable to food pairing, according to parent company Riboli Family Wines, which is aiming to take the Stella Rosa brand past the 3-million-case mark this year.
•Crown Royal has teamed with Main Street Alliance to raise money for struggling independent bars, stages, and other venues across the U.S. The initiative kicks off with the release of “If You Want Me to Stay,” a cover of the Sly and the Family Stone song by Ari Lennox and Anthony Ramos. For each stream of the song, Crown Royal will donate to Main Street Alliance, and Lennox and Ramos will donate their royalties, with record labels Dreamville/Interscope and Republic Records matching the artists’ contributions. The initiative will also be supported by TV spots featuring Lennox, Ramos, and affected venues across the U.S.
•Oregon-based Erath Winery has opened a new tasting room in downtown Portland’s Pearl District. The tasting room will offer several wine flights, in tandem with locally sourced cheese and charcuterie pairings. Extensive Covid-19 precautions will be in place for the time being, among them reservation-only seatings and limits of 6 people per group. Part of the Ste.
