•The Fladgate Partnership has released Taylor Fladgate Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) 2015 Port. The latest iteration of Fladgate LBV Port is a blend of full-bodied red Ports produced in 2015 and grapes grown on both Fladgate’s vineyards and other top properties in the Cima Corgo and Douro Superior areas. The new release retails at $25 a 750-ml., clocks in at 20% abv, and is now available across the U.S. Kobrand handles the Fladgate range in the U.S.

•Rochester, New York-based Geloso Beverage Group is expanding its distribution footprint, entering multiple new markets in the Midwest. New states include Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. Geloso’s range features fast-growing RTDs like Clubtails Cocktail in a Can, Johny Bootlegger cocktails in a reusable flask, and Mad Bean Hard Iced Coffee in a Can. Both Clubtails and Johny Bootlegger were recognized as repeat Impact “Hot Brands” earlier this year.

•Constellation Brands, through a number of its wineries, is donating over $100,000 to relief organizations providing help to those harmed by the California wildfires. Beneficiaries of the donations include the American Red Cross, Napa Valley Community Foundation, and Sonoma County Resilience Fund (Constellation will also match employee donations to these organizations at a 2-to-1 rate.) In addition, The Prisoner Wine Co., Simi, Robert Mondavi Winery, Mount Veeder Winery, Meiomi, and Empathy Wines are raising funds through their DTC programs.

•Hostess extraordinaire Lucie “Lulu” Peyraud, matriarch of Bandol’s Domaine Tempier and a cook whose Provençal cooking inspired great chefs, died Oct. 7 at age 102. “Her contributions were so huge: Provençal lifestyle, cooking, welcoming feeling, etc. And, of course, joie de vivre,” said Domaine Tempier’s winemaker Daniel Ravier, in an email to Wine Spectator. “It is hard to describe what her influence was, but I hope the wines of Domaine Tempier reflect her.” Wine Spectator looks back at Peyraud’s life and career.
