•Delicato Family Wines is launching the Stoneleigh brand in the U.S., bringing the company into the widely popular New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc category. Delicato has forged a long term deal with Pernod Ricard to handle the brand in the U.S. and the Caribbean. Stoneleigh’s wine is made from estate vineyards in Rapaura, in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley and, according to the company, sold just under 800,000 9-liter cases globally in 2019. Stoneleigh will be available in the U.S. beginning in March 2021, for around $19 a 750-ml.

•1821 Fine Wine and Spirits, the U.S. subsidiary of Italy’s Zonin, is introducing a Prosecco Rosé. Retailing at $16 a 750-ml., in line with Zonin Prosecco DOC Cuveé 1821, the newcomer is made according to the recently released regulations for Prosecco Rosé DOC, which stipulate that at least 85% of the blend be composed of Glera grapes, along with 10%-15% Pinot Noir fermented on the skins. The wine is a Charmat method vintage sparkler rested on the lees for at least 60 days.

•Sonoma-Cutrer and Woodford Reserve have announced a $50,000 joint donation to No Kid Hungry, an organization dedicated to relieving child hunger in the U.S. The organization was founded in 2010 and works both in political advocacy and direct relief, lobbying the government to end child hunger and providing free meals and nutrition programs to families in need. The two brands have partnered with No Kid Hungry since 2018 and have donated a total of $150,000 since then. Both Sonoma-Cutrer and Woodord Reserve are in the Brown-Forman portfolio.

•Minnesota’s Prestige Beverage Group has made two new hires to lead its sales and operations teams. Prestige has hired Justin Ashton as its new executive vice president of commercial sales. He joins the company with over a decade of experience, most recently as vice president of control, franchise, and Canada at Stoli USA. The company has also named a new senior vice president of operations, Rowchelle Julian. She comes to this new post with nearly 20 years of industry experience and most recently worked as vice president of sales operations at Treasury Wine Estates.
