Indoor Dining Reclosed in San Francisco, Northeastern States Set New Curfews

November 12, 2020

San Francisco is rolling back indoor dining effective Friday at midnight, and limiting restaurants to outdoor, takeout, and delivery as Covid cases continue to spike. The city had allowed restaurants to reopen indoors at 25% capacity on September 30.

Meanwhile, several northeastern states have announced new curfews for restaurants and bars. In New York, bars and restaurants must close both indoor and outdoor spaces at 10pm, with takeout and delivery of food (but not alcohol) allowed thereafter.

New Jersey has enacted a 10pm curfew for indoor dining effective November 12, while Massachusetts restaurants and bars are halting onsite service at 9:30pm and Connecticut has set a 10pm curfew for on-premise venues, excepting takeout and delivery.—Daniel Marsteller
