•Austin, Texas-based Blue Norther hard seltzer has released a variety pack including its Wild Blackberry, Agave Lime and Prickly Pear flavors. The variety pack launch follows the company’s expansion into the four major Texas metropolitan markets of Austin, San Antonio, Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth and is available across top retailers like H-E-B, Total Wine & More, Whole Foods and Spec’s. An independent brewer founded by the Pittman family, Blue Norther launched earlier this year. The company is named for the fast-moving cold front that can blow through Texas.

•Alaskan Brewing is launching Baltic Porter as part of its limited edition Pilot Series. The 9.8% abv brew is characterized by a blend of specialty malts, dark black cherries, brown sugar, and gourmet vanilla beans, and is finished on oak. Its name refers to the Russian period of Alaska history, with the copula of a Russian Orthodox church featured prominently on its label. Alaskan Baltic Porter will be on shelves in 22-ounce bottles and on draft in select locations beginning in December and will be available for approximately three months.
