•After counting down the top 10 cigars of the year throughout this week—including yesterday’s announcement of the Cigar of the Year—Cigar Aficionado will reveal its full list of the Top 25 Cigars of 2020 today at 10am, the culmination of test-smoking hundreds of cigars throughout the year.

•Bacardi-owned Martini & Rossi has launched Fiero, a new fortified wine. Bottled at a low abv of 15%, Martini & Rossi Fiero is a botanical- and orange-infused fortified wine that the brand recommends serving with tonic water over ice. The new expression will begin rolling out February, joining a wide variety of liqueurs, amari, and RTDs in the Martini & Rossi lineup. It will retail at $18 a bottle.

•Ezra Brooks 99, Compass Box Magic Cask, and Glenfiddich Lunar New Year Edition are featured in Whisky Advocate’s latest weekly roundup. The magazine’s website has all the details.

•Kathy Mikells will step down as Diageo’s global chief financial officer at the end of June after nearly six years in the role. She will be replaced by Lavanya Chandrashekar, currently chief financial officer of Diageo NA. Before joining Diageo in 2018, Chandrashekar spent four years in senior finance roles at Mondelez International, and prior to that spent 18 years at Procter & Gamble.

•Tanteo Tequila has launched a new Espero expression. Retailing at $30 a 1-liter, Espero is a 100%-agave blanco bottling aimed at the premium well Tequila segment. It’s rolling out nationwide both on- and off-premise. Tanteo is known for its higher proof Blanco offering as well as three spicy expressions infused with hand-cut peppers: Jalapeño, Chipotle, and Habanero.

•Following yesterday’s announcement of this year’s Rossville Union single barrel program, MGP Ingredients has announced its George Remus Bourbon single barrel releases for 2021. Now available for pre-order (through March 15), they were distilled from two different mashbills. This year’s George Remus single barrels will be bottled at cask strength and buyers can attend virtual tastings with MGP to choose between the available barrels. The 2021 single barrel release of George Remus Bourbon allows retailers to customize the whiskey’s label and orders will be fulfilled by September.
