•The Wine Spectator Scholarship Foundation has donated $100,000 to the Glancy Wine Education Foundation as part of its campaign to support diversity in the wine industry. The contribution will fund scholarships for students demonstrating economic need and a desire to start or advance a career in the wine or hospitality industry using certifications offered at San Francisco Wine School. •MGP Ingredients has named Matt Greeno as its first lead master distiller. In the role Greeno will oversee spirits producers’ master distillers and process engineers, guiding production at MGP’s distillery operations at its facilities in Atchison, Kansas; Lawrenceburg, Indiana; and Washington, D.C. He will also collaborate with the company’s research and development and innovation teams to develop new products and custom mashbills. Greeno has been with MGP since 2011 and was previously a distillery process engineering manager. MGP acquired D.C.-based New Columbia Distillers last March, furthering its brand portfolio.
