•Pacific Northwest-based Cascade Spirits is taking over operations for Gem & Bolt mezcal, relocating the mezcal’s U.S. operations hub to Portland, Oregon, and will collaborate with the Gem & Bolt team on sales, marketing, and innovation efforts. Gem & Bolt is currently distributed in California, Nevada, Colorado, Texas, New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Mexico. Cascade Spirits plans to drive sales in current markets and expand the brand into the Oregon market. Cascade’s portfolio includes Wild Roots Spirits, Broken Top Whiskey, Cascade Street Potato Vodka, and Sun Ranch Spirits.
•La Tropical, originally a Cuban brewery founded in 1888, will open a new venue this Friday, February 19, in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District in partnership with Heineken. La Tropical’s Miami site will feature a state-of-the-art onsite brewing operation, accompanied by a taproom, restaurant and botanical garden, as well as an ongoing event schedule, art installations, and live music stage. La Tropical has an annual brewing capacity of 32,000 hectoliters and has capacity for up to 800 guests.
