•Balvenie The Edge of Burnhead Wood, Macallan Peter Blake, and newcomers from Port Askaig and Bedtime Bourbon are among the offerings featured in Whisky Advocate’s latest weekly roundup. The magazine’s website has all the details.

•Saison Rum is introducing a new Sherry Cask expression, imported by the Craft Spirits Cooperative. Retailing at $45 a 750-ml., the new entry is a blend of 60% Trinidad and 40% Barbados rums, aged for five years in ex-Bourbon barrels. It is then transferred to ex-Cognac casks for a year before a final three-month finishing period in Pedro Ximenez barrels. Saison Sherry Cask (42% abv) is handled directly by Craft Spirits Cooperative in California and by Vintus NY in New York.

•Philadelphia-based entrepreneur David Adelman and his company Darco Capital have acquired American Harvest vodka and Beach Whiskey, bringing the two brands together under a newly formed company, 1776 Spirits. Looking forward, 1776 plans to build the brands through a national marketing strategy and partnerships with spirits subscription services and strategic media buys. American Harvest, an organic vodka produced in Idaho, is looking to expand its lineup in 2021 with five new seltzer offerings. Additionally, the company is looking to enter the RTD space with Beach Whiskey this year.
