March 2, 2021•Cape Classics is extending its Jam Jar wine brand with two new offerings, Sweet Blush and Sweet Red Blend, both of which retail for $12 and are available nationally. Sweet Blush and Sweet Red Blend join the existing Sweet Shiraz and Sweet White in the Jam Jar lineup, which was up by nearly 30% last year, according to the company. Known for its South African portfolio, Cape Classics has expanded its range with a number of French producers in recent years.
•Mezcal El Silencio is entering the Tequila category with the introduction of a Cristalino expression called Dahlia. Retailing at $40, Dahlia is a 100%-blue agave Reposado Tequila, which is filtered through activated charcoal. Constellation acquired a minority interest in El Silencio for an undisclosed sum in 2019. The brand is known for its core Ensamble and Espadin mezcals.
•Indiana-based Oliver Winery has released Lemon Moscato, a new offering within its Vine Series. Clocking in at just 6.8% abv, Lemon Moscato joins Cherry, Blueberry, and original Moscato in the Vine Series lineup. The new wine retails at $12 a 750-ml. and is currently rolling out across the Midwest and Texas, with availability in 40 states set to come by the end of 2021. The Oliver brand was up 46% to over 670,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.
•Irish whiskey bonder J.J. Corry has announced a new importation and distribution partnership with Trinity Beverage Group that will bring Corry’s whiskies to a national audience in the U.S. The partnership will expand J.J. Corry’s footprint in the U.S. gradually over the next few years; currently the brand is available in select states, according to the company. J.J. Corry’s portfolio consists of blends, single malts, and single grain whiskies sourced from various Irish distilleries and matured at Corry’s rackhouse in Cooraclare, County Clare.
