•Wine brand Invivo X Sarah Jessica Parker, part of the Taub Family Selections range, is debuting a new trade campaign aimed at further expanding its retail presence. The brand ($20), which sold out of its 55,000-case production last year in its launch year, is receiving a new suite of point-of-sale assets for its second vintage of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, with the image of Sarah Jessica Parker front and center, including necktags, shelf talkers, and case cards. “Sauvignon Blanc continues to be a juggernaut, increasing in double digits year-on year for the last five years with the biggest jump in the most recent 52 weeks at 19.2%,” stated Taub Family Selections vice president of sales Alexandra Mansfield, citing Nielsen numbers.
•Mendocino, California-based organic winery Ettore has launched its namesake brand across California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Florida. The portfolio includes Cabernet Sauvignon ($39), Red ($39), Chardonnay Pure ($30), Chardonnay Reserve ($39), and the Ettore Chardonnay Zero ($33) and Merlot Zero ($33), both made with the Purovino method to eliminate sulfites. The boutique brand is led by Italian-born winemaker Ettore Biraghi.
•San Diego, California-based Cutwater Spirits, part of the Anheuser-Busch portfolio, is launching Cutwater Mezcal, its first foray into the mezcal category. The new entry is distilled from 100% Cenizo Agave. To ensure long-term sustainability of the agave supply, Cutwater will plant five baby agave plants for each plant harvested and is establishing an on-premise nursery to cultivate agave plants from seed. The first bottling of Cutwater Mezcal, released earlier this month, is a limited run available at select retailers. It’s at 45% abv and retails for $50 a 750-ml.Subscribe to Shanken News Daily’s Email Newsletter, delivered to your inbox each morning.
