May 20, 2021•Trinchero Family Estates has added Italy’s Ceretto to its import portfolio. Based in Piemonte, Ceretto’s range includes wines retailing from $19 to $200, including the well-known Blangé Arneis Langhe D.O.C. and Moscato d’Asti D.O.C.G. as well as Asili Barbaresco D.O.C.G. and Bricco Rocche Barolo D.O.C.G. The Ceretto family owns more than 400 acres of vineyards throughout the Langhe and Roero, including 50 acres in Barolo D.O.C.G. and Barbaresco D.O.C.G. Ceretto joins San Polo, Famiglia Cotarella, Angove Family Winemakers, Avissi Prosecco, Echo Bay, Finca Allende, and Terras Gauda in Trinchero’s import portfolio.
•Heaven’s Door, Bob Dylan’s American whiskey brand, is introducing a limited-edition 10-year-old Bourbon finished in Redbreast Irish whiskey casks for 15 months. Retailing at $99 a 750-ml., the new entry is at 50% abv. Its bottle features a new gate design created by Bob Dylan in his Black Buffalo Ironworks studio, as well as Redbreast’s iconic Robin. The core Heaven’s Door range includes a Straight Bourbon (46% abv, $50), Double Barrel Whiskey (50% abv, $50), and Straight Rye Whiskey finished in cigar barrels from Vosges, France (46% abv, $80).
•Napa Valley’ Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars is set to release a new Legacy Collection of rare wines. Wines in The Legacy Collection range from the 1970s until 2015 and include Artemis, Fay, SLV and Cask 23, among others. To back the launch, Stag’s Leap will host a number of consumer experiences, including a Judgment of Paris 45th anniversary session on WineSpectator.com, and a Legacy Collection Virtual Tasting Experience with 2010 vintages of Fay, S.L.V. and Cask 23, among other festivities. Ste. Michelle Wine Estates and the Antinori family have owned Stag’s Leap since 2007.
•Indio, California-based RTD producer Buzzbox has signed a deal with RNDC to distribute its portfolio to 32 U.S. markets. Buzzbox markets a line of spirit-based pre-made cocktails that includes Margarita, Greyhound, Cosmopolitan, Mojito, and Bloody Mary, among other classic concoctions, which come in Tetra Paks. In addition to new markets, the partnership with RNDC will give Buzzbox access to the distributor’s host of brand-building capabilities and consumer insights. Buzzbox cocktails retail for around $18 a 4-pack.
•Sovereign Brands has expanded the Luc Belaire portfolio, adding Bleu, a new sapphire-colored sparkling wine. The 12.5% abv Bleu is made from a blend of 45% Ugni Blanc and 55% Colombard grapes, and is bottled with 30g/liter of residual sugar, giving it a similar level of sweetness as a Dry Champagne. Belaire Bleu is now rolling out across the U.S.
