M. Shanken Fall Events Off To Exceptionally Strong Start: 45th Annual Impact Marketing Seminar And 40th Annual New York Wine Experience Both Sold Out

June 16, 2021

M. Shanken Communications, Inc., New York, has seen a surge in interest for its upcoming fall events, with several of its signature gatherings already sold out. Between September and December 2021, M. Shanken is hosting 12 events, some rescheduled from last year due to the pandemic. Click here for a full list of the events slated for this fall across the Wine Spectator, Cigar Aficionado, Whisky Advocate, Market Watch and Impact family of publications.

“We have been overwhelmed by the demand to attend our trade and consumer events, just two weeks after putting tickets on sale,” commented Marvin R. Shanken, chairman and CEO of M. Shanken Communications, Inc. “Today we announce that the 45th Annual Impact Marketing Seminar has sold out. Yesterday the New York Wine Experience sold out, and prior to that WhiskyFest Chicago likewise sold out.”

The roster of speakers for the 45th edition of the Impact Seminar, to be held September 29 at New York’s Pierre Hotel, features leading executives from across the wine, spirits, cannabis, retail, and restaurant businesses. Attendance has been lowered as a safety precaution due to the pandemic, and vaccination or a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the event is required. While tickets have sold out, those interested to attend may join the waiting list at impactseminar.com, as more tickets may become available.

On September 30, Market Watch magazine will assemble top players from all three tiers of the drinks industry to honor the nation’s retailers at its annual Leaders Awards Banquet, an invitation-only event. Traditionally held at the St. Regis, Leaders has been moved to the Pierre Hotel this year, and is taking place the day after the Impact Seminar.

On the consumer event side, weekend ticket packages for Wine Spectator’s 40th Annual New York Wine Experience went on sale June 2, and have already sold out. The wine world’s signature event will be held at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square from October 21-23. Attendance will be limited this year to ensure maximum safety for all attendees. Vaccination or a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the event is required. For those interested in joining the festivities, please visit www.nywineexperience.com to join the waiting list for full weekend packages, for which more tickets may become available. Limited tickets for the Critics’ Choice Grand Tastings the evenings of October 21 and October 22 will go on sale later this summer.

Whisky Advocate has seen robust demand for its slate of WhiskyFest showcases, with its Chicago edition already sold out. Visit www.whiskyadvocate.com/whiskyfest to join the waiting list for WhiskyFest Chicago, as well as to register for the event’s stops in New York and San Francisco.

This fall will also see the first Big Smoke Meets WhiskyFest held jointly by Cigar Aficionado and Whisky Advocate at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida on October 30. Interest in that event, as well as Cigar Aficionado’s Big Smoke Las Vegas, scheduled for November 5-6 at The Mirage, is also running high. While limited tickets for the evening walkaround tastings at Big Smoke Las Vegas are still available, the daytime seminars are completely sold out at 550 attendees.

In December, Wine Spectator will also host its annual Grand Tour, with stops in Las Vegas (December 4), Washington, D.C. (December 10), and Chicago (December 15), featuring tastings of more than 200 of the world’s finest wines, all scoring 90 points or above. Tickets are on sale now.
