•Napa Valley’s Hess Collection has been renamed Hess Persson Wine Estates. The new moniker is intended to honor both the legacy of founder Donald Hess and the next-generation stewardship of Sabrina and Timothy Persson. Sabrina is Donald Hess’s daughter, and Timothy is now proprietor and CEO of the company. Known for luxury Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, today Hess Persson comprises two distinct portfolios: the Hess Collection and the Lions Head Collection. “In the last 10 years we’ve been through an earthquake, a landslide, two wildfires, severe drought, and of course the pandemic. Notwithstanding these challenges, our team, brands, and vineyards have excelled and so we are both ready and excited for what the future now holds,” said Persson.
•Importer Albert Bichot USA has added France’s Maison Lorgeril to its import portfolio. The Maison, based in France’s Languedoc-Roussillon region, combines six estates and produces wine from nine regions: Languedoc, Cabardès, Minervois, Minervois La Livinière, Saint-Chinian, Faugères, Côtes-du-Roussillon, Côtes-du-Roussillon Villages, and Maury. The six estates are all sustainably farmed and produce a wide variety of red, white, and rosé wines, which will join Albert Bichot USA’s vast portfolio of French imports, covering regions including Chablis and Burgundy, among many others.Subscribe to Shanken News Daily’s Email Newsletter, delivered to your inbox each morning.
