Hexo Names Truss Head As New President And CEO

October 26, 2021

After abruptly parting ways with former CEO Sebastien St-Louis, Hexo has tapped Scott Cooper to take his place. Cooper joins the Ottawa-based cannabis producer from Truss Beverage Co., Hexo’s joint venture with Molson Coors, where he was president and CEO.

Before his three-year tenure at Truss, Cooper spent 12 years with Molson Canada in a variety of leadership roles including chief sales and strategy officer, chief strategy and business transformation officer, chief commercial officer, and chief innovation officer. “Scott’s two decades of experience in consumer-packaged goods, his success in launching and growing Truss’ innovative portfolio to be the Canadian market leader in cannabis beverages, and experience working in the United States position him well to defend Hexo’s position as a market leader in Canada and secure our place as a top-three global cannabis products company,” said Hexo chairman Michael Munzar.

Cooper will continue as CEO of Truss for up to the next six months as the company seeks a replacement and transitions them to the role.—Danny Sullivan
