Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Teremana Tequila Expands Range With Añejo

December 7, 2021

Teremana, the Tequila brand co-founded by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, has officially unveiled its new Añejo espression. Aged in American whiskey barrels, the new entry retails at $40 a 750-ml., with each bottle dipped by hand in black wax before being hand packaged at the brand’s distillery, Destileria Teremana de Agave, according to the company. The Añejo will roll out in North America on a limited basis to start, with its availability expanding in the months ahead. Located in the small highland town of Jesus Maria in Jalisco, Teremana’s distillery was built in partnership with the Lopez family.

Teremana ($28 a 750-ml.) was recently named Best New Spirits Product in Market Watch’s Leaders Choice Awards after depleting 230,000 cases in its 2020 launch year. This year, the brand is projected to reach a half-million cases. Teremana is distributed by Mast-Jägermeister U.S., whose vice president of brand marketing, Charles Littlefield, recently told SND, “The growth is coming across all markets, with the Eastern markets of Florida and Georgia and control market of North Carolina particularly strong.”
