New York Regulators Push For Sales By End Of 2022
December 21, 2021New York State’s Cannabis Control Board chair Tremaine Wright said she hopes the state can follow an 18-month timeline to get legal sales up and running. Speaking at Crain’s New York Business forum, she envisioned open stores a year and a half from last March when the legalization legislation was passed.
“It’s a reasonable, although aggressive timeline,”she said. “We hope to beat it.” She said the agency is shooting to have its draft regulations available for public comment by next month and the license application process open before September 2022.—Danny Sullivan
