•It’s increasingly lonely at the pinnacle of the St.-Emilion classification, with Château Pavie the only remaining Premier Grand Cru Classé A. Just six months after Cheval-Blanc and Ausone announced they would leave the Right Bank ranking system, Château Angelus’ co-owner and general manager Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal announced that the estate had withdrawn its application for the 2022 classification as well. And the rankings face plenty of other hurdles. Wine Spectator has the full story.

•MPL Brands has expanded its Rancho La Gloria wine-based RTDs with AgaVida, a new agave-based RTD. The new line comes in four flavors—strawberry, mango, peach, and green apple—with all made from blue agave nectar and sweetened with agave syrup. The line comes in at 5% abv and 80 calories per serving. Rancho La Gloria AgaVida is now available at Walmart across the U.S., with wider distribution coming soon, for a suggested price of $13 a bottle. Last November, The Wine Group took a minority stake in MPL Brands. An Impact “Hot Brand,” Rancho La Gloria neared 2 million cases for 2021, per The Wine Group.
