Moët Hennessy’s Revenues Rise 26% To $6.7 Billion In 2021
February 1, 2022Strong sales of Cognac and Champagne helped carry Moët Hennessy to nearly €6 billion ($6.7b) in sales for 2021, up 26% organically from the prior year. Sales also outstripped pre-pandemic 2019 by 9%. Profit from recurring operations grew 34% organically year-on-year, to €1.9 billion ($2.1b), registering 8% above 2019 levels.
The company touted very strong demand in the United States and Asia and a rebound in Europe as boosting sales. Both its Champagne and Cognac volumes increased last year compared with 2019, as a stronger on-premise environment helped drive gains. Moët Hennessy added that it now has incorporated Champagne house Armand de Brignac, in which corporate parent LVMH holds a 50% stake, and that Château d’Esclans continues to enjoy rapid growth, amid the “flourishing market for high-end rosé wines.”—Daniel Marsteller
