February 4, 2022•Hennessy Cognac has launched a new limited edition bottling of its VSOP expression featuring a label designed by musician Maluma. The exclusive label features overlapping purples, pinks, and blues behind the brand’s typical typeface. Hennessy VSOP Limited Edition by Maluma is now available while supplies last for a suggested price of $65 a 750-ml. Parent company Moet Hennessy recently reported 2021 sales of nearly €6 billion ($6.7b), up 26% organically over 2020.
•Coop Aleworks’ Sonic Hard Seltzer has expanded into 21 new markets, bringing its total distribution footprint to 27 states. Licensed by Sonic Drive-In restaurants, the seltzer comes in 8 flavors—Ocean Water, Melon Medley, Mango Guava, Orange Pineapple, Cherry Limeade, Original Limeade, Classic Lemonade, and Lemon Berry—all at 5% abv and 100 calories per 12-ounce can. They’re available in two variety packs divided by tropical and citrus flavors.
•Paso Robles, California-based Patrimony Estate has promoted Chris Avery to president. A 20-year wine industry veteran, Avery has been with the Cabernet Sauvignon producer for just over a year as a senior vice president overseeing its sales and marketing team. Prior to joining Patrimony, he was president of Demeine Estates, vice president of sales and marketing at Opus One, and national sales director at Jordan Vineyard & Winery. Patrimony was founded by winemaker Daniel Daou.
