News Alert: Brown-Forman’s Hayes To Retire, Shepherd Named President, U.S. And Canada

Jeremy Shepherd will be named Senior Vice President and become President, USA & Canada at Brown-Forman effective July 15. Shepherd replaces John Hayes, who is retiring August 17.

In his new role, Shepherd will lead the commercial organization in its largest and most valuable market with a focus on the company’s strategic ambitions, including continuing to grow Brown-Forman’s premium Tequila and whiskey brands, and accelerating its premium-plus brands. Shepherd, a 17-year veteran of Brown-Forman, previously served as Vice President, general manager, for the United Kingdom and Ireland.

In addition, the company has named Crystal Peterson Senior Vice President and Chief Inclusion and Global Community Relations Officer, Tim Nall as Senior Vice President and Chief Global Supply Chain and Technology Officer, and Alex Alvarez has assumed a newly created position of Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer and Director of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance).

Brown-Forman has U.S. volume of above 10 million cases annually, ranking as the 10th-largest spirits marketer, according to Impact Databank.—Daniel Marsteller
