•Lapostolle is launching a new single-vineyard wine from one of the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards in Chile. The new wine, La Parcelle 8, is named after its eponymous vineyard block of un-grafted Cabernet Sauvignon vines on the Clos Apalta estate, coming from original pre-phylloxera rootstock and planted in the 1910s. La Parcelle 8 spent 26 months in new French oak with additional time in bottle and is debuting nationally through Winebow Imports, retailing at $125 a bottle.

•Louisville, Kentucky-based Michter’s has released a new batch of US*1 Barrel Strength Rye. This edition, overseen by master distiller Dan McKee and master of maturation Andrea Wilson comes in at an average abv of 55.8%, with variations depending on the individual barrel. The single barrel bottling is now available in limited quantities across the U.S. for a suggested price of $100 a bottle.

•Bacardi-owned Patrón has announced Residencia Patrón, a new branded art and cultural event, taking place in New York City on March 25 and 26. The event will take place in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood at Studio 525 and will feature Tequila and Mexican food and culture. The space will be brought to life by Fabiola Zamora and Danaé Salazar, co-founders of Mexican culture and fashion magazine Revista 192. The event will feature chefs, bartenders, artists, and performers from across Mexico. Guests are able to make reservations for the event through Tock.

•Earlier this week, Pernod Ricard USA sponsored Women U-Night, an event in the Dallas Arts District highlighting the city’s Women’s Nighttime Safety Charter, which encourages nighttime operators to sign a pledge to prioritize women’s safety at night. “It is vital that our nightlife businesses champion the safety of women at our local establishments,” said Pernod Ricard North America chairman and CEO Ann Mukherjee. “It is our duty as leaders in the industry and in the community to encourage local residents and businesses to take action.” While the Women’s Nighttime Safety Charter is new to the U.S., other global cities like London have adopted similar initiatives.
