•Canada’s Alberta Distillers, part of Beam Suntory, has launched Alberta Premium in the U.S. for the first time. The 40% abv whisky is made from 100% rye grown by local Calgary farmers and the bottled product is blended from whiskies aged at least five years. Alberta Premium is rolling out now across the U.S. for a suggested price of $25 a 750-ml. This is the first widely available release for the brand in the U.S. and follows the late 2020 limited release of Alberta Premium Cask-Strength.

•Captain Morgan Rum is extending with Captain Morgan Cherry Vanilla. The new expression is a limited-time release that’s at 30% abv. To support its launch, the brand has partnered with former Bachelor contestant Joe Amabile, who created several cocktail recipes using Captain Morgan Cherry Vanilla. It’s available on shelves now across the U.S. and Canada for a suggested $16 a 750-ml. Captain Morgan was up 2.5% to 12.3 million cases worldwide last year, according to Impact Databank.

•Sauza is getting into the RTD game with the launch of Sauza Agave Cocktails. The new line of canned drinks comes in four flavors: Lime Crush, Tropical Twist, Strawberry Breeze, and Black Cherry Smash (all 8% abv). They are malt-based and also contain agave nectar. Although Sauza is part of Beam Suntory, the RTDs will be produced by Boston Beer Company as part of a long-term strategic partnership between the two companies. Sauza Agave Cocktails are available now, priced at $18 a variety 12-pack, $10 a single-flavor 6-pack, and $3.50 for a single 24-ounce can.
