March 16, 2022•Rémy Cointreau has released a new ad celebrating Louis XIII Cognac, the ultra-luxury Rémy Martin expression. The advertisement and film, “Believe in Time,” brings musician Solange Knowles, who created an original song for the project, together with couture designer Guo Pei and director Mati Diop. In the ad, Solange plays Mother Earth while wearing Pei’s clothing. The ad was developed by Fred & Farid Los Angeles. Rémy Martin shipments jumped 22% to 1.6 million cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.
•California-based O’Neill Vintners and Distillers has launched BrandyLab, a new small-batch spirits label, with a limited release bottling. The brandy, bottled at 40% abv, is blended from spirits aged between five and 10 years in American oak, French oak, and Sherry casks. BrandyLab’s inaugural release is now available in 375-ml. bottles for a suggested price of $35. Only 400 cases of the brand’s first bottling are available.
•Frankfort, Kentucky-based Castle & Key Distillery is debuting its first Bourbon. Launching in two batches, it’s dubbed Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey. Batch #1 will be available at the Castle & Key Distillery beginning March 26, priced at $50 a 750-ml., and Batch #2 will follow in early May. Both batches will be sold throughout Castle & Key’s 17-state distribution area as well. Both batches were aged four years and bottled at 49% abv. Castle & Key was founded in 2014 when the company began restoring The Old Taylor Distillery.
•Miami, Florida-based Origins Organic Imports has named Susan-Anne Cosgrove as vice president of global marketing. In the newly created position, Cosgrove will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategy and innovation for the company. She joins from Taub Family Selections, where she spent five years as vice president of marketing & public relations; she previously was director of public relations for Pasternak Wine Imports for 14 years. Cosgrove will report to Origins Organic owners Labid al Ameri and Anne Bousquet, who are also co-owners of Domaine Bousquet. Origins Organic was founded in 2014.
