LibDib Aims For Further Expansion In 2022

March 22, 2022

Online wholesaler LibDib, which is partnered with second-ranked U.S. distributor Republic National Distributing Co. (RNDC), has been in expansion mode lately, with its footprint now covering nine markets: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, New York, Texas, and Wisconsin. “Our two strongest markets are California and, most recently, Colorado,” LibDib founder and CEO Cheryl Durzy tells SND, adding that more market expansion is imminent for the five-year-old company.

“We are about 65% spirits and 35% wine, and approximately 25% on-premise and 75% off-premise,” Durzy notes. “On-premise is still in a recovery phase in many of our markets, but it is really starting to come back strong so we expect these numbers to change in the next two quarters.”

Last September, LibDib and RNDC unveiled LibDib@RNDC, a new sales division within RNDC Texas, which the two companies say provides a distribution option for both established RNDC suppliers and new and emerging brands. “Texas is very much a chain-driven market and we are working with some of the largest buyers in the market,” says Durzy. “Additionally, we have a few brands that are showing signs of ‘graduating’ to RNDC, which is a big part of what we are doing together: incubating brands, giving them access to the market, and then pushing them up to different divisions within RNDC. Considering the early success of the program, we most definitely will expand on the division in other markets.”—Daniel Marsteller
