March 25, 2022•Carlow, Ireland’s Walsh Whiskey has announced the 2022 vintage for the Irishman Cask Strength. This year’s bottling comes in at 54.9% abv with 1,200 750-ml. bottles allocated to the U.S. The whiskey matured in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels and does not carry an age statement. The Irishman Cask Strength 2022 Vintage is now available in select retailers across the U.S. for a suggested price of $140 a bottle. Hotaling & Co. handles Walsh Whiskey’s range in the U.S.
•The Dalmore has teamed up with NFT marketplace BlockBar once again, this time to release a 33-year-old single malt with a Pauillac Premier Grand Cru Classé finish. The whisky, priced at $8,800, will be bottled at 51% abv after all NFTs and their corresponding bottles have sold. Only 223 NFTs and bottles will be available to purchase though BlockBar. The first 10 bottles will be offered to existing BlockBar NFT holders on March 29, with the remaining 213 opened to the broader public on March 30 ahead of the April 5 creation of the NFTs. In the U.S., the Dalmore is handled by E.&J. Gallo’s recently rebranded spirits unit, Spirit of Gallo.
•Yes Way Rosé has launched Blueberry + Lavender Spritz, the third canned RTD from the rosé-focused brand. The 5% abv wine-based spritz is made with French rosé, and has 5 grams of sugar and 93 calories per can. It joins Pink Lemonade and Peach + Ginger in Yes Way Rosé’s RTD portfolio. The newest spritz is now available in 4-packs of 250-ml. cans for a suggested price of $13 in select retailers across the U.S. Yes Way Rosé was up 10% to 165,000 cases in the U.S. last year, with Spritz accounting for 12,000 cases, according to Impact Databank.
•Lagunitas Brewing, part of the Heineken portfolio, is introducing Disorderly TeaHouse spiked and sparkling tea. Brewed with guayusa tea leaves from Indigenous farmers from Ecuador, the newcomer has 100 calories a serving, zero grams of sugar, and is debuting in Yuzu Lemon Squeeze and Mixed-Up Berries flavors. Lagunitas Disorderly TeaHouse comes in 19.2-ounce single-serve cans for $3 and single-flavor 6-packs of 12-ounce cans for $12. It is available nationally at various retailers, including Sprouts, Meijer, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Safeway, among others.
