March 31, 2022•Kentucky Owl will release the second installment in its series The Wiseman. Joining The Wiseman Bourbon, released last September, the new expression is Wiseman Straight Rye, made with a mashbill of 95% rye and bottled at 50.4% abv. It launches in April and will be available at a limited number of locations across Kentucky Owl’s national footprint, for $60 a 750-ml. Founded in 2014, Kentucky Owl was acquired by Stoli Group in 2017.
•Constellation Brands has introduced a new boxed cocktail brand, Next Round Cocktails. Made from wine and real fruit juice, Next Round is debuting with Salted Lime Margarita (13.5% abv) and Strawberry Lime Sangria (10% abv) expressions. The new brand is rolling out across major retailers nationwide in a 1.5-liter bag-in-box format retailing at approximately $17 and a 500-ml. Tetra box positioned at $6.
•Moncalieri, Italy-based aperitivo maker Hotel Starlino announced the release of Starlino Orange. It’s made from white wine and orange distillate, itself distilled from Sicilian blood orange, lemon peel, and other herbs and botanicals. Starlino Orange joins the brand’s other products: Starlino Rosé Aperitivo, Rosso Vermouth, and Maraschino Cherries, which launched in the U.S. in August 2020. It’s at 17% abv and can be ordered from Drizly, carrying a suggested retail price of $25 a 750-ml. Hotel Starlino is part of the Biggar and Leith portfolio.
