•Kentucky Owl Wiseman Rye, Basil Hayden Subtle Smoke, and newcomers from Compass Box and Yellowstone are among the offerings featured in Whisky Advocate’s latest weekly roundup. The magazine’s website has all the details.

•Rombauer Vineyards today announced the acquisition of three vineyards totaling 154 vine acres in the California appellations of Carneros-Sonoma, Sonoma Valley, and Fiddletown. The acquisitions include the Haire Vineyard in Carneros-Sonoma, the Carriger Vineyard in Sonoma Valley, and an historic vineyard in the Fiddletown AVA of Amador County, bringing the family-owned winery’s estate and leased vineyards to a total of 830 planted vine acres.

•Dallas-based Zamora Co. USA has announced the addition of Mezcal San Cosme, the first agave-based spirit to join the company’s portfolio. Mezcal San Cosme retails at $40, with its name derived from the mysticism of Saint Cosmas, the patron saint of doctors. Zamora Co. USA’s portfolio, which is handled by Southern Glazer’s across 41 states, also includes Licor 43, Martin Miller’s gin, Double Cross vodka, Yellow Rose whiskey, Lolea sangria, Don Papa rum, and Villa Massa limoncello, amaretto, and vermouth.
