•Jefferson’s Ocean Aged Rye, Blood Oath Pact No. 8 Calvados Finished, and newcomers from Compass Box and Tamdhu are among the offerings featured in Whisky Advocate’s latest weekly roundup. The magazine’s website has all the details.

•Three-time NBA champion Klay Thompson and nine-time Gold Glove winner Nolan Arenado are rookies again—this time in the wine business. They’ve just released their first vintage of Diamond & Key Napa Cabernet, made by Nickel & Nickel winemaker Joe Harden and in partnership with Thompson and Arenado’s wealth manager, Joe McLean. Wine Spectator has more.

•Shaw-Ross International has added Argentinian winery Pulenta Estate to its portfolio. Shaw-Ross will be handling Pulenta’s three main product lines: La Flor, featuring Malbec, Malbec Rose, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc as well as a red blend; Pulenta Estate, which includes Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay; and Gran Pulenta Estate, including Gran Malbec, Gran Cabernet Sauvignon, Gran Cabernet Franc, and Gran Corte. The Pulenta wines will be distributed nationally.

•Wade Cellars, the wine venture of retired NBA star Dwyane Wade in partnership with the Pahlmeyer family, has appointed boutique agency Spotlight Brands to handle national wholesale sales and marketing as it aims to up its presence across the country. Currently present in 40 U.S. markets, the Wade Cellars portfolio includes the flagship Wade Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon and the nationally distributed Three by Wade portfolio of wines including a California Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, California Chenin Blanc, and California Rosé.

•Cayman Jack, part of the Mark Anthony portfolio, has released a new Margarita Variety Pack with flavors including Margarita, Strawberry, Mango, and Watermelon. The flavored malt beverage brand’s new pack includes three 12-ounce slim cans each of those flavors, which are at 5.8% abv. The rollout comes following a period of strong growth for Cayman Jack, which saw volume increase 50% in IRI channels last year.
