•Hardin’s Creek Colonel James B. Beam, Hardin’s Creek Jacob’s Well, Starward Octave Barrels, and newcomers from Yamazaki and Smooth Ambler are among the offerings featured in Whisky Advocate’s latest weekly roundup. The magazine’s website has all the details.
•Diageo is releasing limited time offer Baileys Colada nationwide. Retailing at $25 a 750-ml bottle, Baileys Colada is a 17% abv blend of Irish cream and the flavors of coconut and pineapple, recommended to be served over ice or in a variety of cocktails. To boost the launch, Baileys has partnered with floral sculpture artist Mr. Flower Fantastic and actress and producer La La Anthony to create Colada cocktail recipes that will be featured at cultural events across the country this summer.
•Elijah Craig Bourbon is partnering with PGA golfer Talor Gooch. As part of the multi-year sponsorship deal, Elijah Craig will be known as the “Official Bourbon of Talor Gooch.” Gooch will also participate in integrated marketing campaigns, social media collaboration, and public appearances, as well as wearing Elijah Craig’s logo on his tournament shirts beginning early next year. The partnership with Gooch follows a similar relationship with golfer Max Homa that began this January. Elijah Craig is part of the Heaven Hill portfolio.
•Terlato Wines has promoted Tony Terlato Jr. to the newly created role of chief of staff. Terlato Jr. joined the family company in 2017 as the regional sales manager for the Midwest. In 2019 he was promoted to national on-premise sales director and in 2020 he was promoted to vice president of national accounts. Prior to that he spent time with Southern Glazer’s and Empire Merchants. As Terlato Wines chief of staff he will report directly to president and COO Sandra LeDrew.
•Los Angeles, California’s Beverly Spirits has launched the Beverly High Rye, a new whiskey made by entrepreneur Andrew Borenzweig, and Cedar Ridge Distillery’s Jeff Quint. The whiskey brings together straight rye and Bourbon whiskies, sourced from Iowa and Indiana, and blended at Cider Ridge. To celebrate the launch, the brand teamed up with mixologist Jeffrey Morgenthaler to create a series of signature cocktails.
