•M.S. Walker has imported a new seasonal release from Gin Lane 1751: Violet Gin. The release is from the brand’s Victorian Garden Series, which is made up of releases flavored with garden staples from that time period. The gin is made by extracting the oils from violet pedals, along with the brand’s eight other botanicals. Gin Lane 1751 Violet Gin will be available across the U.S. beginning in June for a suggested price of $40 a 750-ml.

•New California wine brand Mela is launching its first products. Based in Napa, the name Mela is short for “melanin,” nodding to the skin tones of its four female co-founders. The brand is debuting with two releases: a 2021 White Blend and a 2020 Red Blend. The former is made from Gewürztraminer, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Riesling, sourced from Napa Valley, Mendocino, and Clarksburg, California. The red is a blend of Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Malbec, and Syrah, sourced from Napa Valley and Clarksburg. Both go on sale May 28 exclusively from Mela’s website with the white blend priced at $28 a bottle and the red at $40.

•Gatlinburg, Tennessee-based Ole Smoky Distillery launched the latest of its jarred fruit tie-ins. Following such installments as Moonshine Cherries and Moonshine Pickles, the new release is Moonshine Pineapples with Piña Colada. They’re available now across the U.S. Ole Smoky was recently honored with Impact Hot Brands status for its 2021 performance, which saw volume surge 50% to just over 1 million cases.
