•Louisville, Kentucky’s Rabbit Hole, a Pernod Ricard brand, has announced Nevallier Founder’s Collection Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in French Oak, the fourth release in the company’s Founder’s Collection. The 16-year-old whiskey matured for 15 years in new American oak before finishing for a final year in new French oak made at French cooperage Tonnellerie Leroi. The finished whiskey is bottled at 57.9% abv. Only 1,155 bottles will be available, beginning in June, for a suggested price of $895 a 750-ml. •Vida Valiente, a new Napa Valley wine label, has launched its first bottling, a 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon blend. The brand—from Hayes Drumwright and Susana Cueva Drumwright, and Sam and Nancy Kaplan—was created to support its namesake foundation, dedicated to supporting first-generation students. The wine, called the Movement, retails for $250 with $100 from each bottle going to the foundation. For its first class of scholars, the foundation has teamed up with Stanford University and will provide assistance to 25 first-generation students through their four-year tenure at the university. While Vida Valiente is debuting with one wine, the company also plans to release a single estate Cabernet sourced from its own St. Helena vineyard, beginning with the 2021 vintage.Subscribe to Shanken News Daily’s Email Newsletter, delivered to your inbox each morning.
