•Tequila Zarpado, part of the Latitude Beverage portfolio, has launched two new spirits-based RTDs: Margarita and Tequila Soda with Lime. The brand’s Margarita comes in at 8% abv and 180 calories per can and is made with Blanco Tequila, lime juice, agave, and triple sec. The 5.5% abv Tequila Soda with Lime is at 118 calories per can and also uses real juice. Both are available in 4-packs of 12-ounce cans with the Margarita carrying a suggested price of $14 and the Tequila Soda at $13. The pair are available in 13 states across the U.S.

•Empson USA has added McPrice Myers Winery to its portfolio, marking the first California winery (and only second American winery) in the importer’s portfolio. McPrice Myers’ wines are made from grapes grown in California’s Central Coast and, to kick off the new partnership, Empson will handle six bottlings in 15 states, including Bull By the Horns Cabernet Sauvignon, High on the Hog Rhone-style blend, Right Hand Man Syrah, Pound for Pound Zinfandel, and Beautiful Earth red and white blends.

•Erath Winery and Col Solare, both part of the Ste. Michelle Wine Estates family of brands, have named new winemakers. The news comes alongside retirement announcements for Gary Horner, Erath’s winemaker for the last 20 years, and Darel Allwine, Col Solare’s winemaker for the last nine years and a 26 year veteran of Ste. Michelle. Both will retire at the end of June. Erath’s new winemaker, Leah Adint, previously served as traveling winemaker for Ste. Michelle. At Col Solare, Stephanie Cohen will take over as winemaker; previously she worked alongside Allwine at the winery.

•Southern Glazer’s has announced the retirement of Scott Westerman, executive vice president and general manager, North Central Sub Region, effective December 31. Westerman joined Glazer’s Distributors in 1997 as a branch manager for the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He would eventually hold the roles of president of Ohio and Missouri and regional president of Missouri, Kansas, and Iowa before assuming his current role at Southern Glazer’s in 2016. Succeeding Westerman will be Randy Myers, effective August 1. Currently senior vice president, general manager, Missouri, Myers will report to Mike McLaughlin, president, Central Region, in his new role.
