Terlato Relaunching Napa Valley’s Rutherford Hill, With New Wines On The Way
June 17, 2022Terlato Wines is relaunching its Rutherford Hill winery in the Napa Valley, including refined brand positioning, new marketing across all tiers, and a “major capital expenditure” at the winery’s tasting and picnic areas.
In addition, the winery is renaming its Mee Lane Vineyard in Rutherford as the AJT Vineyard in honor of the late Anthony J. Terlato, who purchased Rutherford Hill in 1996. Next year, the winery plans to debut two new offerings, AJT Sauvignon Blanc ($36) and AJT Cabernet Sauvignon ($70).
Veteran winemaker Michael Coode has been named winemaker at Rutherford Hill, tasked with setting the direction and future style of Rutherford Hill’s wines. He previously worked at Rombauer and E.&J. Gallo. Meanwhile, Terlato has appointed Chris Wilder as the group’s supply chain director. Wilder spent the past six years with Francis Ford Coppola Winery.—Daniel Marsteller
