•Frederick Wildman & Sons president and COO Marc Hirten has stepped down, with his duties to be filled by CEO Roberta Corrà until a replacement is named. Additionally, Matt Munn has been named chief commercial officer at Wildman. Munn, a 20-year industry veteran, was most recently with Southern Glazer’s and also spent time with Gallo and Schieffelin & Somerset (now Moet Hennessy USA).
•Clase Azul has launched a new luxury Tequila, celebrating the brand’s 25th anniversary. Clase Azul 25 Aniversario Limited Edition is bottled at 40% abv and comes in a 1-liter decanter painted in the brand’s signature cobalt blue and featuring floating dandelion seeds. Only 9,125 bottles of the Reposado Tequila will be available for a suggested price of $500 a bottle.
•Beam Suntory has announced the second batch of Booker’s Bourbon for 2022. This iteration—the Lumberyard Batch—aged for just over seven years before bottling at 62.4% abv. The whiskey is named for Booker Noe’s job before joining the Beam distillery. Booker’s Bourbon the Lumberyard Batch is now rolling out across the U.S. in limited quantities for a suggested price of $90 a 750-ml.
•Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has named Stephanie Silvestre as senior vice president, supply chain & operations strategy. Silvestre has over a decade of experience at SGWS. She most recently served as senior vice president, supply chain. In this new role, Silverstre will lead the distributor’s 10-year plan to overhaul the supply chain and operations space within the industry. She will report to Bobby Burg, senior vice president and chief supply chain officer.
