•The Balvenie French Oak 16 year old, Glen Scotia Campbeltown Malts Festival 2022, and newcomers from Dry Fly and Slainté are among the offerings featured in Whisky Advocate’s latest weekly roundup. The magazine’s website has all the details.
•Charleston, South Carolina-based Total Beverage Solution has added Lindores Abbey Single Malt Scotch whisky to its portfolio. The brand is produced at Lindores Abbey Distillery, located at the eponymous abbey, which holds the distinction of being the location of the first attested distilling operation of Scotch in royal records from 1494. Distilled from Kingdom of Fife barley, the single malt is aged in Bourbon barrels, wine barriques, and sherry butts and bottled at 46% abv. It will be available for purchase in the U.S. on September 1 through Total Beverage’s wholesaler network.
•Lodi, California-based Fitvine Wine, which specializes in low-sugar products, is releasing a new North Coast Cabernet Reserve. Made with fruit from California’s North Coast region, the 2019 bottling adheres to the company’s standard practices of eschewing flavor additives and is specified as gluten free and vegan. It’s available now from FitVine’s website where it’s priced at $20 a 750-ml. FitVine was founded in 2015 and has been among the fastest-growing brands in the better-for-you wine segment, reaching 375,000 cases on 18% growth last year to earn Impact “Hot Brand” honors.
•New York-based Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards is releasing four new wine seltzers: Red Cat Splash, White Cat Splash, Pink Cat Splash, and Red Cat Dark Splash. Each wine seltzer is 6.1% abv and is based on its existing namesake wine with a touch of carbonation. Red Cat Splash, White Cat Splash, Pink Cat Splash, and Red Cat Dark Splash retail in 250-ml cans for $3 each, with distribution in New York State.
