•MPL Brands has extended Impact “Hot Brand” Rancho La Gloria into spirits, launching a new line of flavored Tequilas. The initial lineup comes in two flavors—Jalapeño Lime and Pink Lemonade—both at 35% abv and made from a base of 100% Blue Agave Tequila. Rancho La Gloria’s infused Tequilas are rolling out now across the U.S. for around $30 a bottle; initially the pair will be available in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, and Texas with 12 more markets to be added throughout the rest of the year. Rancho La Gloria’s wine-based cocktails jumped 30% to 1.7 million cases last year. The Wine Group has a minority stake in MPL Brands.

•Piedmont-based Michele Chiarlo is upgrading the bottle and label for its Barbera d’Asti Le Orme DOCG, beginning with the 2020 vintage. The updated label of Barbera d’Asti Le Orme DOCG 2020 ($18) is designed by Italian artist Giancarlo Ferraris, and reprises the cypress tree motif found on Chiarlo’s Nizza DOCG wines, Cipressi and La Court, in a brighter blue color. The Bordeaux-shaped bottle is also more sustainable, weighing 12.7 ounces instead of the previous 19 ounces. The wine has also received the VIVA sustainability certification, allowing Michele Chiarlo’s products to be 100% VIVA certified in 2022.
