•Maryland’s Flying Dog Brewery and Colorado’s Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey have teamed up to celebrate their shared founder, George Stranahan, with a new beer and a new whiskey, called the Osopher project. The Osopher beer is an Imperial strength take on Flying Dog’s Road Dog Porter aged in Stranahan’s barrels. After the beer matured, the barrels were sent to Stranahan’s distillery where they were used to finish 11-year-old single malt for four months. Both Osopher releases feature artwork from Ralph Steadman. Stranahan’s Osopher comes in at 47.3% abv and will be available at the distillery for $160. Flying Dog’s take is at 12% abv and will be available in 750-ml. bottles in select locations in Maryland for $30.

•Ipswich, Massachusetts-based True North Ale Company is kicking off its fall seasonals with Season of the Witch. First brewed in 2019 for consumers in Salem, it’s a double dry hopped hazy IPA. Season of the Witch is made with Citra, Vic Secret, and Strata hops and kept to an abv of 5.9%. The artwork on the can’s label was created by Marblehead artist Amy Hourihan. Packaged in kegs and cans, it is available in stores and restaurants throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island and at the True North Ales Taproom through October 31st.
