•Old Forester Birthday Bourbon (2022 Release), Remus Repeal Reserve (Series VI), and newcomers from Ardbeg and Jefferson’s are among the offerings featured in Whisky Advocate’s latest weekly roundup. The magazine’s website has all the details.

•André Hugel, a former leader at Famille Hugel winery in France’s Alsace region, passed away Aug. 15 from complications due to Covid. He was 92. Part of the 11th generation of the Hugel family, a name synonymous with Alsace wine, André will be remembered as a proud champion of his region’s culture and defender of its wine traditions. Wine Spectator has more on Hugel’s life and career.

•818 Tequila, the high-end spirit founded by model Kendall Jenner, has announced Eight Reserve by 818, a new Añejo Tequila. The spirit is a blend of 1-year-old Añejo Tequilas with extra-Añejos aged up to eight years. It comes in a custom ceramic decanter shaped like an eight. Eight Reserve is set to launch on September 19 in New York, Texas, Florida, Nevada, Illinois, and California, and carries a suggested price of $200 a 750-ml. 818 depleted 64,000 9-liter cases in 2021, its first year on the market.

•Four Roses will launch its 2022 Limited Edition Small Batch on September 17. Non-chill filtered and bottled at 109 proof, the 2022 Limited Edition Small Batch features four different recipes aged 14 to 20 years. They represent four of the distillery’s 10 distinct Bourbon recipes: a 14 year-old Bourbon from the OESF recipe, a 14 year-old OESV, a 15 year-old OESK, and a 20 year-old OBSV. Four Roses will distribute approximately 14,100, 750-ml. hand-numbered bottles of the 2022 Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon to be sold in the United States with a suggested retail price of $180.

•Tequila Gran Sociedad, a new luxury-priced spirit, has launched Joven, the debut offering from the brand in the U.S. The 40% abv Tequila is made using only 8-year-old agave plants harvested from Los Altos de Jalisco and blended from 70% Blanco Tequila and 30% Añejo. Tequila Gran Sociedad Joven is now available in New York, California, and Florida for a suggested price of $189, as well as online through ReserveBar.
