•Washington State’s Woodinville Whiskey has launched Moscatel Finished Straight Bourbon, previously a distillery-exclusive, into wider distribution. The 50% abv whiskey begins as Woodinville’s flagship Bourbon before finishing in 200-gallon Portuguese Moscatel de Setúbal casks. The release carries a suggested price of $100 a 750-ml. and will be available in limited quantities in the distillery’s 23-state distribution footprint. Woodinville Whiskey has been a part of the Moët Hennessy USA portfolio since 2017 and, in 2020, underwent a significant upgrade, boosting its production capacity to nearly one million proof gallons per year.

•Himbrimi, a gin brand distilled in Reykjavik, Iceland, is making its U.S. debut, with two expressions available now in New York and more markets to come later this year. The first release, Himbrimi Old Tom gin, is bottled at 40% abv and made with juniper, angelica flower, and Arctic thyme, among other botanicals and added honey, and carries a suggested price of $70 a 700-ml. Himbrimi Winterbird London Dry gin is the second spirit coming to the U.S. The entry-level offering is made using the same botanicals as the Old Tom gin, but undergoes a second distillation before bottling at 40% abv. It carries a suggested price of $40.

•Bardstown Bourbon Company has released its second collaboration with Armagnac house Château de Laubade. The new whiskey is a blend of 12-year-old Kentucky and 10-year-old Tennessee Bourbons blended and matured in Château de Laubade casks for an additional 16 to 24 months. The second edition of the Château de Laubade Armagnac Collaborative Series is bottled at 53.5% abv and carries a suggested price of $160. Roughly 2,700 cases of the whiskey will be available in 20 states, through Seelbachs online, and at Bardstown Bourbon’s gift shop.

•Southern Glazer’s has named Lewis Kenrick as EVP, general manager, California, effective January 1. He will report to Patrick Daul, president, Western Region. Most recently Kenrick was EVP, general manager, Coastal Pacific Wine & Spirits, and has been with Southern Glazer’s for 15 years. Prior to joining the distributor, Kenrick held multiple roles with Diageo Chateau & Estates and Diageo Spirits.

•Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) has appointed Marissa Garrett to SVP, sales operations, “responsible for the strategy and execution of initiatives designed to drive increased sales effectiveness and efficiency,” according to the company. She reports to Jenn Engel, chief commercial sales officer. Garrett joined RNDC in 2011 and was most recently ERP modernization business lead, commercial.

•The Macklowe American Single Malt whiskey has expanded into Texas and Colorado, and has appointed a new executive vice president. The brand is handled by Southern Glazer’s in the two new markets, and builds on its existing presence in New York. In addition to expanding, the Macklowe has hired Sabine Latapie as its new executive vice president. Latapie joins from the Wine Group, where she served as sales director.
