•London, England-based Compass Box Scotch Whisky has announced two new limited releases, set to hit shelves around the world in November. The first release, Ultramarine, is a 51% abv blend of single malts from Caol Ila and Glendullan with grain whiskies from Cameronbridge and Girvan. It kicks off Compass Box’s new Extinct Blends Quartet, meant to emulate past styles of blended Scotch. The second new release is Flaming Heart 2022, the seventh entry in the whisky’s namesake series. The 48.9% abv bottling is blended from Laphroaig, Talisker, and Caol Ila malts, with a portion of highland whiskies and past Compass Box releases blended in as well. Ultramarine is limited to 5,430 bottles and retails for $375 and Flaming Heart 2022 is limited to 9,606 bottles, each selling for around $155.

Retailing at $100 a 750-ml., it’s available across CA, GA, IL, TX, FL, NY, AZ, and OH, as well as online, with a national rollout slated for January. Initially matured in both American and French oak barrels for 12 months, the Tequila is then blended with Añejo reserves matured in ex-Cognac casks. Founded by entertainer and entrepreneur Kevin Hart and Cuervo CEO Juan Domingo Beckmann, Gran Coramino debuted with a Cristalino Tequila this past May.

Herman previously served in leadership roles at Chewy, Amazon, and Hulu. As of 2022, 10% of licensed retailers in the U.S. are on the marketplace, according to Provi, which is valued at around $750 million.
