Major Changes At Bacardi As Pete Carr Moves To Global Role, Tony Latham To Lead North AmericaOctober 4, 2022
In a series of changes announced by Bacardi Ltd. this morning, current regional vice president for North America Pete Carr will move to a global role within the company, taking on the newly created role of executive vice president and global growth officer. Stepping into the North America role will be Tony Latham, who currently serves as the company’s global chief financial officer.
In addition, Bacardi has promoted Albert Vila Tarres to global CFO. Vila Tarres has over a decade of experience at Bacardi and has served as chief finance officer in markets around the world. The changes are effective at the start of Bacardi’s new fiscal year on April 1, 2023. Carr and Vila Tarres will be based at Bacardi’s headquarters in Bermuda, while Latham will be at the company’s office in Coral Gables, Florida.
Carr will be tasked with spearheading the company’s overall commercial strategy with a focus on e-commerce, the on-trade, and optimizing route-to-market plans. He comes to this new role with substantial experience within the spirits world, including over eight years in charge of Bacardi’s North American business. While in that role, Carr pushed for many changes for the company’s portfolio, including aligning with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits in over 40 markets across the U.S., a move that consolidated Bacardi’s distribution portfolio down from nearly 40 distributors. Additionally, he oversaw Bacardi’s acquisition and integration of Patrón into its portfolio.—Shane EnglishSubscribe to Shanken News Daily’s Email Newsletter, delivered to your inbox each morning.
