•House of Suntory has announced Hibiki Blossom Harmony, a new limited edition whisky, as well as the U.S. debut of Hibiki 30 Year Old. Hibiki Blossom Harmony is a 43% abv blend made from blending grain whiskies finished in Sakura wood casks with other malt whiskies. It carries a suggested price of $160 a bottle. Hibiki 30 Year Old, also bottled at 43% abv, is an extremely limited release that marries Yamazaki malts with grain whiskies, carrying a suggested price of $5,000 a bottle.

•Oregon’s Hood River Distillers has a signed a new long-term agreement with the Orendain family of Mexico, securing distribution rights for Batanga Tequila. Initially, the company partnered with the brand in 2019 to launch the Tequila in the U.S. Hood River currently distributes two Tequilas from Batanga—a Blanco and a Reposado—both priced at $29 a 750-ml. and bottled at 40% abv. The brand is available in 12 states with an east coast push coming by the end of this year. In addition to expanding the brand’s footprint, Batanga and Hood River are also planning on adding 1.75-liter bottles.

•Zamora Company USA has launched Licor 43 Chocolate in the U.S. The newest line extension to the Spanish liqueur brand, Licor 43 Chocolate is bottled at 16% abv and combines the brand’s original liqueur with sustainably sourced chocolate. This is the second extension for the brand to hit U.S. shelves, following last year’s Licor 43 Horchata, a vegan cream liqueur. The whole portfolio is line priced at $30 a 750-ml. and is now available across the U.S. Licor 43 recently earned Impact “Hot Prospect” honors after rising 39% to just under 100,000 cases last year.

•Beam Suntory’s Knob Creek has released its oldest whiskey yet, an 18-year-old bottling celebrating the brand’s 30th anniversary. The 50% abv whiskey is double the age of the standard Knob Creek Bourbon and will retail for around $170 a bottle. The whiskey is now available in limited quantities across the U.S. Last year, Knob Creek reached 544,000 cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
