ReserveBar Unveils On-Demand Delivery

October 6, 2022

ReserveBar, the luxury-focused alcohol e-commerce company, has debuted its new on-demand service, promising to deliver select wines and spirits within two hours. The move comes a little less than a year after ReserveBar acquired on-demand e-commerce platform MiniBar. The new service, like ReserveBar’s shipping and Minibar’s previous on-demand delivery, is fulfilled through a network of retailers, maintaining three-tier compliance. With this new service, ReserveBar is competing directly with Drizly, DoorDash, and Instacart, as well as maintaining its position as an online hub for luxury and limited-edition spirits.

“We always knew that we could open up more opportunity by having on-demand, but it was a significant step, in terms of the technology that enables you to have a connection to your retail network with real-time inventory view,” said ReserveBar president Derek Correia.

After being prompted to enter a delivery address, the updated ReserveBar website allows users to choose between shipping an order—which allows for additional gift options and bottle engraving in some cases—and same day delivery, if available. Both options inform consumers which retailer is fulfilling their order and offer a time frame, in days or hours, for delivery. In addition, any price differences between the retailers change seamlessly when moving between shipping and same day delivery.

ReserveBar’s updated platform can also be integrated in wine and spirits brands’ own websites, allowing for easy ordering. “One of the great things about this new tech stack that we’ve inherited, partially from Minibar and significantly bespoke with some plug-and-play third-party software integrations, is the engine is skinnable in myriad ways,” said Correia. “It will service all of our brand store-powered solutions. A rapidly growing part of our business was enabling brands to have cart and checkout natively on their site, but compliant and fulfilled by licensed retailers using our platform.”
