•Lagavulin Offerman Edition: Charred Oak Cask, Ardbeg Hypernova, and newcomers from Teeling and Copperworks are among the offerings featured in Whisky Advocate’s latest weekly roundup. The magazine’s website has all the details.

•Beam Suntory is launching a new edition of Cask Strength Rye from Alberta Distillers, Ltd. The 2022 release comes in at 63.5% abv and is distilled from locally sourced rye from Alberta farmers before distillation and aging in new white oak barrels. In addition to the yearly cask strength edition, Beam Suntory launched the standard Alberta Premium in the U.S. in March of this year. The cask strength version retails for a suggested price of $80 a 750-ml., while the wider release is more affordable at around $25.

•Marc Hoellinger has been named CEO of Champagne Deutz and Delas Frères, both part of the Roederer group, effective January 1. Hoellinger has spent his entire three-decade career in the wine and spirits industry, including as CEO of The Glenmorangie Company from 2013 and then, from 2018 until very recently, chief commercial officer at Moët & Chandon. He succeeds Fabrice Rosset, who has spent 26 years at the helm of the two wine companies.

•Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) has appointed Emily Xu to SVP, e-commerce. Xu is responsible for defining and executing RNDC initiatives related to e-commerce channels and digital capabilities including eRNDC. She reports to Bob Hendrickson, COO and executive vice president. Xu was most recently CMO at Mitchell Gold Bob Williams. Before that, Xu worked at Crate & Barrel and Sears Corporation, overseeing e-commerce, customer experience, strategy, and analytics.

•Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has announced the departure of Bill Edwards, the company’s senior vice president, national accounts, on-premise. Edwards is leaving Southern to join an unnamed supplier partner in the industry. During his tenure at Southern, Edwards started as vice president, national account sales in 2004, before moving to his role working with the on-premise in 2016. Prior to joining Southern, Edwards worked in a variety of roles at Darden. He leave the company effective January 1.
