•Rémy Cointreau’s Mount Gay rum has announced the fifth release in its Master Blender Series, the Madeira Cask Expression. The 55% abv rum was distilled on column stills and has spent six years aging in seasoned Madeira casks. The limited edition rum is now rolling out to select retailers across the U.S. for a suggested price of $220 a 700-ml. Last year, Mount Gay was at 139,000 cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.

•William Grant & Sons has extended its partnership with musician, author, and DJ Questlove for the Balvenie, launching another season of the Quest for Craft digital series. The second season has four chapters featuring Questlove in conversation with Mark Ronson, Misty Copeland, Fran Lebowitz, and Kenan Thompson, with each episode filmed at New York City’s Electric Lady Studios. The videos are now available to view on the Balvenie’s YouTube channel.

•Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum is introducing Sammy’s Lost Cask 10-year Aged Rum. Only 500 bottles will be released, including 75 bottles autographed by founder Sammy Hagar. Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum’s original rum was placed into oak casks for aging in Maui, a few thousand feet above sea level. Years later, production was relocated to Puerto Rico, but now the last of the Hawaiian batch is being released. “In addition to more than a decade of aging, these are the last bottles of rum that were made from Hawaiian sugar cane,” Hagar noted. Sammy’s Lost Cask 10-year Aged Rum retails at $299 a bottle.
