•Shelbyville, Tennessee’s Nearest Green Distillery has launched a new rye whiskey, the first of three new releases set to hit shelves before the end of the year. Uncle Nearest Straight Rye Whiskey is bottled at 50% abv and is sourced from Canada before aging in New York for at least four years. After the whiskey ages in New York, it’s moved down to Tennessee where it undergoes a final maturation in used Uncle Nearest casks. The new rye is now available across the U.S. for a suggested price of $59. The company will also release Uncle Nearest Single Barrel Black Label on November 25 and follow that with Uncle Nearest Single Barrel Rye in mid December.

The campaign features Craig dancing through Paris, set to a new song by Rita Ora featuring British rapper Griggs. Taika Waititi, director of What We Do in the Shadows and Thor: Ragnarok, directs the spot, which features choreography from Beyonce collaborator JaQuel Knight. The campaign will run in print, digital, and out of home in New York City, Paris, and Los Angeles.

•Southern Glazer’s has partnered with Union, a consumer-engagement platform for the hospitality sector, to support on-premise customers continuing to rebuild from the pandemic. Union provides bars and restaurants a mobile ordering app experience for guests that integrates with Union’s POS system, built specifically for high-volume hospitality venues. Consumers order through the Union platform after scanning a QR code and receive their orders on average six minutes faster than otherwise, with the venues seeing a 28% sales boost once the platform is up and running, according to the company. According to Southern Glazer’s chief growth officer David Chaplin, Union also offers “unique data capabilities (that) arm our alcohol supplier partners with unprecedented insights and breakthrough opportunities for their products.”
