December 12, 2022•Clackamas, Oregon-based Portland Cider Company is launching a limited-run Lemon Drop Cider. It’s made with Meyer lemons alongside cider-steeped elderflower in addition to apples for a tart but not sour taste. Lemon Drop Cider is now available on tap or in 19.2-ounce cans at Portland Cider’s three locations and at retail throughout Washington and Oregon. Portland Cider Company was founded in 2013.
•Chicago-based Sommaroy Spirits is introducing a line of lower-strength distilled offerings. Named for a Norwegian island that experiences 24 hours of sunlight around the solstice, the brand is releasing both a vodka and gin at 27.5% abv. Priced at $30 a 750-ml., Sommaroy’s products are available now in Illinois at Binny’s Beverage Depot and Dom’s Kitchen and Market, as well as in Nevada; they will expand distribution in January to more than 130 Whole Foods locations nationwide as well as going up for sale online.
