•Writers’ Tears Irish whiskey, part of Walsh Whiskey, has launched Red Head, the latest limited release from the brand. The single malt Irish whiskey is bottled at 46% abv and is matured in Oloroso-seasoned Sherry casks, lending the whiskey a reddish hue and representing the source of its name. Red Head carries a suggested price of $70 a 750-ml. and is available in 22 states across the U.S. in limited quantities. Writers’ Tears is imported by San Francisco-based Hotaling & Co.

•Lobos 1707 has launched its joven and reposado Tequilas in 375-ml. bottles for the first time. The move, according to the company, is meant to make the spirits more convenient and accessible for first-time buyers and build the brand’s reach. Lobos’ Tequilas are finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks after their initial maturation period. The joven release sees three months in American oak and the reposado matures for seven months before finishing. The new 375-ml. bottles retail for $30 for the joven and $33 for the reposado and are now available throughout the brand’s distribution footprint.

•Montpelier, Vermont’s Barr Hill has announced Tom Cat Kingdom Strength, a new high-proof gin and the first expression in the company’s new Distillery Selection series. The 56.5% abv gin is made with raw honey sourced from Vermont and is matured in oak barrels, creating a spirit that balances juniper with sweeter, barrel-aged notes. The release joins Barr Hill’s portfolio alongside Barr Hill Gin, Barr Hill Reserve Tom Cat Gin, and Barr Hill Vodka, and is now available for sale at the company’s distillery.
