Indiana’s 21st Amendment Retail Chain Welcomes New Owners
January 5, 2023Indiana-based liquor store chain 21st Amendment is undergoing a change of ownership following the death of founder and former Market Watch Retailer of the Year Jim James in early 2021. The 20-store chain, which had revenues of about $38 million as of 2020, when it counted 16 stores, now passes to US Liquor Group LLC for an undisclosed sum.
The new company’s principals include Bobby Kang, CEO of California-based transportation company Cargo Solution Express; and Indianapolis-based hotel owners Harry Ghoman and Alex Ghoman, the Indianapolis Business Journal reported, adding that 21st Amendment veteran Lou Anne Brennan will serve as a managing consultant to the new owners.—Daniel Marsteller
